Web Conversion Designer

Immediate availability, full‒time position in San Diego. Salary commensurate with experience.

The Opportunity

SiteTuners is seeking a passionate and experienced visual designer to create the best converting web user experiences for our clients.The work ranges from small businesses with tactical single‒page needs, to large corporations conducting complex whole-site redesigns. You will use your experience to create the wireframes and mockups of landing pages that support the client’s business goals and improve the efficiency of their online operations.

The main focus is on creating wireframes and Photoshop visual mockups of web pages (either stand-alone pages, or pages within larger websites), and is largely production graphics oriented. Although no actual web development is required, a working knowledge of web development is needed to make sure that proposed mockups can easily be built by the client.

You will be delivering work to internal team members ‒ no direct client‒facing interactions are required. This is an important internal role on the team that requires a persuasion marketing and design mindset with high productivity, excellent time and project management, and great people skills.

Skills & Abilities

• Minimum of two years professional web graphic design experience and/or a portfolio which demonstrates a good standard of design, creative solutions, attention to detail and quality
• Strong working knowledge of Photoshop
• Working knowledge of wireframing
• Working knowledge of web development (HTML/CSS)
• Ability to follow specific direction and make multiple changes to draft designs
• Ability to work from previous project work and existing templates
• Very high level of attention to detail and ability to work quickly
• Ability to juggle simultaneous projects in various stages of development
• Reliably hit schedules and project milestones
• Work with project managers and copywriters
• Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with exceptional organizational skills
• Experience with online collaboration tools like Google Docs, Skype chat, remote FTP, timesheets

Preferred Background

• College degree in Graphic Design, Web Design or related discipline
• User experience (UX) or user-centered design (UCD) background
• Web information architecture
• Psychology and marketing persuasion
• Copywriting (headlines & website navigation labels)
• Experience with MockFlow wireframing software
